Certain video games can be quite frustrating, due to their increased difficulty, so there is no shame if you decide to bend the rules with a few cheat codes. A simple Google search is all it takes to locate cheat codes for any game, but you must spend some time browsing through the many results, separating the real cheats from pages that contain your keywords. With CheatBook DataBase, you can find cheat codes for almost any game out there. The best part is that you can find them much faster, because the database is stored on your computer.

Installing CheatBook DataBase does not involve anything else than specifying a destination path and clicking an OK button, on the same window. The application is free and it is updated every year. This means that you should look for the 2013 edition.

Codes for PC and console games are categorized on separate tabs. You can access other tabs as well, to find walkthroughs for PC games, an advanced search engine and links for numerous online databases. Game titles are listed on the left side of the interface and you just need to select one in order to reveal its cheat codes and various hints, on the right side. The database includes countless titles. You can find almost any game, including new ones, like Mass Effect 3 or Dishonored or old titles, like Wolfenstein 3D.

If the information on a certain game is not correct, you can edit the entire entry in a separate window. Besides editing the text, you can also insert notes, attach files, screenshots and more. Alternatively, you can build your own database on a different tab. If you decide to create your own entries, you can also submit them to CheatBook and help the community. It is also possible to send proposals, subscribe to newsletters and more.

Instead of cheat codes, you may come across instructions for editing certain files in a HEX editor, especially if you are looking for older games. This is why CheatBook DataBase comes with a built-in HEX editor. You can also find a few filtering options, as well as a Tetris game.

Pros

CheatBook DataBase contains over 21 thousand cheat codes and walkthroughs for PC and console games. You can find codes for a specific game instantly and you may create your own entries as well. The application is free and you can install it in a matter of seconds.

Cons

An automatic update feature would be a welcomed addition. If you want to find the necessary codes for god mode or infinite ammo, CheatBook DataBase will help you locate them instantly.
